In my pursuit to feed my body and my family healthfully, I've been dabbling in Raw eating a.k.a. eating my fruits and veggies like my Mama always told me too! Ha!
I've read a couple books on Raw eating and for Christmas received a lovely new book, Rawlicious (pictured) which I'm really excited to explore and try some new recipes! A main staple in a Raw foody diet is starting each day with a "green juice," which is a juice made of assorted leafy greens, veggies, and sometimes an apple for sweetening. After trying many "green juice" recipes I've developed one that I really love! My husband has even begun drinking it along with me in the mornings! Woohoo!

Jaime's Green Latte
Ingredients:
1 healthy handful of Kale
1/2 an Apple
1 Carrot
1 1/2 Celery sticks (with leaves)
1 cup purified Water
Blend all ingredient and strain into a mug or glass and Enjoy the Raw goodness!
(Or simply put ingredients through a juicer)
This makes one cup portion. I double this when B joins me.

That's awesome! Ethan's favorite juicing recipe is similar. Big bunch of spinach, carrots and an apple. He called it "The Popeye"!
We've done a few different green smoothies as well, I need to get back into it! We've been thinking about going to paleo diet. That's where you only eat food that grows in the ground or breaths and no grains. Basically what cavemen used eat. We're going to try it for a month in March and see how it goes. I love the diets that actually encourage you to eat healthy food rather than just goofy combinations of food that may or may not help. I'm excited to see how your raw adventures go!
Thanks Ladies! Meghan- I think that's great that you all r going earth bound with your fiddles in March! :) I'm striving for whole foods, mostly raw during the A.M., and warm cooked dinners at night. And of course the occasional sweets for birthdays, parties, holidays, etc. It's all about balance...right?

Oh my, you are speaking my language! I started focusing on eating more raw, less processed foods and love to start my mornings with a raw green smoothie! I feel like I'm just starting my day out right. Awesome!
Yeah, Another person into green juice!! Green juice really helps me start my morning right too!
